Madrid Canoe Regatta

The Madrid Canoe Regatta is a series of canoe and kayak races held annually over two days on the first full weekend in June, on the Grasse River in Madrid, NY. The weekend includes recreational races of three miles, amateur canoe and kayak races of 9 and 13 miles, as well as pro races. The pro races include a 1-mile sprint race and 9 and 16 mile marathon races. Amateur and pro marathon races include a 1/4 mile portage around the Madrid Dam. Camping is available on-site free of charge or book nearby lodging. The races are co-sponsored by the St. Lawrence Valley Paddlers (SLVP) and Madrid Canoe Regatta.
