Join Music from Salem directors Judith Gordon and Lila Brown in a heavenly marriage between music and poetry. Love poems from the depths of despair to the silliest whimsy, read by actor/playwright and former director of the Hubbard Hall Theater Company, John Hadden, and poet/painter Margaret Lloyd, author of three published collections of poetry and former Chair of the Humanities Department at Springfield College. Music by J.S. Bach, Philippe Rameau, György Kurtág, Ludwig van Beethoven, Arvo Pårt, Johannes Brahms, John Harbison, Ernst Krenek, Robert Schumann, Morton Feldman, paired with poetry by Margaret Lloyd, Sappho, E. E. Cummings, Eugenio Montale, William Shakespeare, Anna Swir, Dylan Thomas, Henry Austin Dobson, Rainer Maria Rilke, Anna Akhmatova. The concert suggested ticket price is $25, but Music from Salem welcomes all under its "pay what you can" policy.
