Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra at The CIA: Americana 250

The Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a multimedia tribute to colonial Hudson Valley life. Programming will include "Colonial Dances" by Florence Price and Copland’s "Fanfare for the Common Man" and "Appalachian Spring." Featured performers include master storyteller Jonathan Kruk and Native American flutist Premik Tubbs. Audiences will experience projected imagery of local historical sites, a tribute to Daniel Nimham, and three captivating Hudson Valley tales from the Colonial era: “Washington’s Spectacles,” “Sybil Ludington’s Ride,” and “The Origin of Yankee Doodle.”

Pre-concert talk - A Revolutionary War Soldier comes to life, 6:45 PM, included with admission 
Join award winning teacher Neil Murray from Pine Plains as he shares historical anecdotes and artifacts of the Colonial soldier. Dressed in an authentic uniform with muskets and swords at his side, he will share information about the Revolutionary War and the military impact of the men and women from Dutchess County  who helped fight for the cause. You will not want to miss this engaging and unique pre concert talk.

This performance will be held in the Marriott Pavilion at The Culinary Institute of America.
