Oysterponds Historical Society presents Maritime Exhibition in Webb House

The Webb House was built in the late 18th century was moved–barge – to Orient and became part of Oysterponds Historical Society in the 1980s. Webb House today is open to the public and decorated and period-furnished as it was during its late-18th and 19th century heyday. Given the Oysterponds community’s historical connection and proximity to the sea, it is no wonder that OHS’s collection abounds with significant artwork and artifacts that have to do with ships, seafaring, whaling, etc. This Exhibition, on the 2nd floor of Webb House, is a compelling distillation of the many noteworthy maritime-related items in our collection; it features 16 of our maritime paintings and seven of our ship models—many recently restored. The Maritime Exhibiton in Webb House opens on Sat., July 2nd; hours are Saturdays and Sundays 2pm – 5pm
