Reading of the Declaration of Independence at White Plains & The Birth of NY State

Commemorate the first time the Declaration of Independence was read by Judge John Thomas of Purchase on the steps of the White Plains Court House with a reenactment, among many other events. The schedule includes: 11:30am – Revolutionary Parade, Mamaroneck Avenue from Maple Avenue to Mitchell Place 12:00pm - Reading of the Declaration of Independence, American Legion Post 135 – 57 Mitchell Place 1:00pm -Wreath Laying at the DAR Monument, Armory Plaza (site of the Original Courthouse) 1:30pm – 5:00pm – Colonial Village Experience, Tibbets Park between Main Street and Hamilton Avenue
