Real Rap: Hip-Hop Star Power on Screen showcases the history and intersection of hip-hop and film through screenings, discussions, a dance party and more. The series kicks off on July 28 with Mario Van Peebles’s New Jack City. Other featured screenings include Reginald Hudlin’s House Party (September 16), which is followed by a panel discussion, and John Singleton’s Poetic Justice (October 6), which features a spoken word showcase with poets from African Peach Arts Coalition.
