Back in the Eocene the water fern helped transition hothouse Earth into an ice age. In this talk, Stony Brook University’s Sharon Pochron will describe ongoing efforts to use this nature-based phenomenon to offset current carbon emissions.

More About the Speaker:

Dr. Sharon Pochron runs the Worm Lab, a laboratory focused on environmental issues (including climate change) and undergraduate education. Dr. Pochron has published with more than 100 undergraduate students on issues ranging from microplastics to agriculture.
