In the Speaker Nite series, we examine issues that were important during TR's lifetime and continue to be relevant today. This month, the TR Site is pleased to welcome historian Ryan Swanson to its 2021 Speaker Nite series. Dr. Swanson is an Associate Professor and Chair in the Honors College at the University of New Mexico. His research focuses on the development of college athletics and athletic culture in the United States during the Progressive Era. His talk will explore several themes from and is based on his recent book, "The Strenuous Life: Theodore Roosevelt and the Making of the American Athlete".

Pre-registration for the online version of Speaker Nite is required. Participants will receive an email with a link to join the videoconference via Zoom. Click the link to join the meeting. You may be prompted to download Zoom, which will take just a few moments to complete. You will need a computer with a decent internet connection and speakers.
