Spring Planting and Crafting Fun at the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum

Details

Let creativity bloom with activities like seed planting, seed engraving, and crafting butterfly wings!

• Seed planting: Celebrate the wonder of plants with a hands-on seed exploration! Learn how seeds grow, why they come in different shapes and sizes, and what they need to thrive. Then, plant your own seed in a pot to take home and watch it grow! This interactive activity is perfect for budding botanists of all ages and a great way to connect with nature.

Seed engraving: Using cardboard and foil, children will create their own seed engraving to take home.

Butterfly wings
To celebrate the MHDM's butterfly release, children will take part in creating their own butterfly wings. With the help of the museum staff, children will create a template, cut cardboard, and design their very own butterfly wings to wear.

These crafts will be in rotation and supplies are limited.

Program scheduled for 12–1 p.m. and 3-4 p.m.
