Trade Days Festival at Crailo State Historic Site

In celebration of Crailo’s 100th anniversary of being given to the state of New York, Crailo and the Friends of Fort Crailo are holding a new event called Trade Days, a two-day festival on September 21 and 22 highlighting many aspects of traditional trade markets held in 17th and 18th century Rensselaerwyck and throughout the Hudson River Valley. Each day from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., visitors are invited to enjoy performances of African and Haudenosaunee Storytelling, 17th century medical and swordsman reenactors, 18th century music and various dance, along with a variety of demonstrations including hand-forging and brewing, vendors, and games & activities. In addition, the museum will be open free of charge for self-guided tours and an opportunity to see the current exhibit, A Dishonorable Trade: Human Trafficking in the Dutch Atlantic World. Piece of Heaven Foodtruck will be available each day. This event is presented in conjunction with the Hudson River Valley Ramble and sponsored by the Hudson River Valley Greenway National Heritage Area, OPRHP, and local businesses. The event is free to the public and will be held rain or shine!
