"Unfolding Stories: A Celebration of Quilt Artists" is a collaboration between the Chenango County Historical Society and the Earlville Opera House. This exhibition, representing regional contemporary and traditional quilts, celebrates the rich quilting culture across New York State. It features an interactive element, where viewers are encouraged to ‘name that pattern.’ Viewers can also vote for their favorite quilting artist, who will be invited for a solo exhibition at the Earlville Opera House next year. This virtual Gallery Opening will feature more than a century of textile artistry, to honor the creative pursuits of local women before and after they were officially recognized as full citizens of the United States. First established in 1939, the Chenango County Historical Society’s mission is to lead and support the advancement of research, education, and enjoyment of Chenango County history. They are located at 45 Rexford Street in Norwich, NY and can be reached by visiting www.ChenangoHistorical.org. The Earlville Opera House is located at 18 East Main Street in the quaint Village of Earlville, NY 13332 and is currently closed for onsite programming until further notice.
