Western New York Railroad History Day

Details

Celebrate the rich railroad history of Western New York at the Railroad Museum of the Niagara Frontier. Our fall 2024 ‘Path Through History’ day will feature the unveiling of a new plaque marking the historical significance of the Museum’s former New York Central Railroad 'EL-2' switch tower, located adjacent to the Museum at 152 Oliver Street. In addition, visitors will be able to view three all-new exhibits highlighting: the Buffalo Creek Railroad; the Niagara Junction Railway and the Niagara, St. Catherines & Toronto Railway. And weather permitting, volunteers will be continuing to rebuild the former Erie Railroad mainline track at the Museum. Visitors will be able to watch as new ties are laid, rails are replaced, spikes driven in and ballast spread. The Museum is family-friendly; fully accessible and offers free parking. No entrance fee but donations are always welcome.
