Winona Forest Recreation Association is ahead of its time on this one. The SnoFatShu is the first snowshoe/fat bike duathlon of its kind in the country and considered by many to be the most incredible race they have ever participated in!! With the great success of the annual Stone Wall Snowshoe Race, and the IditaFAT winter fat bike race, we thought it only made sense to offer a greater challenge for those looking for one by combining the two into one single AMAZING event. Named after the mythical Icelandic Monster, the SnoFatShu consists of a snowshoe jaunt of approximately 5K of groomed trials, arriving back to the transition area to send the partner racer out with the fat bike for a 12K “ish” of fat trail heaven. Once back, the snowshoe runner will head out for the final 5K. Participants are able to do the SnoFatShu as a team or solo; it is your choice. The top three finishers receive awards and get to stand on our homemade podium for pictures, which has become a SnoFatShu tradition and one that everyone enjoys. All proceeds from the IditaFAT will be donated to the Winona Forest Recreation Association to help maintain the grooming machinery as well as management of the trails. • Fat bikes only (3.5” or larger tires) • Team or solo; it is your choice. Special recognition will be given to the male and female athlete with the fastest combined times in both the 50K IditaFAT and solo SnoFatShu. They will be crowned the King and Queen of “The Festival of Flakes” Weekend.
