Details

Find the Banners through our Women in STEM Scavenger Hunt at the Cradle of Aviation Museum Explore the stories of women in science, engineering, and space through a self-guided scavenger hunt across the Museum. Visitors will find banners throughout the galleries, learn about each individual, and share what they discovered before heading to the Museum Store for a small prize. Featured are scientists, engineers, and astronauts whose work shaped major moments in science and exploration—including Mae Jemison, the first African American woman in space, and Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman in space. The hunt also highlights New York connections, including Chien-Shiung Wu of Columbia University and Ruby Hirose, who conducted vaccine research at the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research. Materials developed by the U.S. Department of Energy support this program. This program highlights the people behind major breakthroughs and the role STEM continues to play today. Included with museum admission. All ages welcome
