An official Path Through History Site! As a 2x Winter Olympic Host City, the Lake Placid Olympic Museum is home to North America’s second-largest Winter Olympic artifact collection. Explore the new exhibits and discover the Olympic spirit while learning about remarkable athletes who changed the world of sports. Throughout seven main exhibits, visitors can journey through the evolution of the Winter Olympic Games, see the Olympic torch collection, experience racing down the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Bobsled Track in our bobsled simulator, and watch the Miracle on Ice victory in the theater. During your visit, also tour the Lake Placid Legacy Sites, including the Olympic Center’s 1980 Herb Brooks Arena and the James C. Sheffield Olympic Skating Rink.
