Julia Englert (owner/chef) is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, class of 1995. She has helmed many fine American restaurants, including the Broadmore Hotel in Colorado Springs and the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver. After many years of working in the kitchens of others, Julia decided in 2003 to open her own bakery in the little town of Bloomfield, NY. After eleven successful years, Julia and her Husband Doug decided to expand the bakery into a full restaurant, and thus the Big Bass Brasserie came into being.
In the very near future they are hoping to obtain their micro brewers permit. Doug has been a home brewer for 20 plus years and wants to bring his brewing experience to the brasserie.
