For several years, the original Edwards Market remained vacant on Main Street in downtown Granville. In 2011, two long-time residents had a vision to introduce a fresh concept for the community — fresh butchered meats, local produce, and a wide range of specialty foods. They purchased the building from the Edwards family, who had run the family-owned grocery for over 60 years – from it’s origin as a small in-home meat market business, to its first Main Street location in a neighboring building, to its current home now at 11 West Main Street. Re-established and opened in the Summer of 2014, Edwards Market now offers local maple syrup, honey, artisan cheeses, yogurts, breads, pastries, sandwiches, and home-roasted meats including turkey breast and roast beef. You will find a full deli, prepared salads and hot meals to go. The mission of Edwards Market is to bring the community & its passers-by foods and products sourced from local farms and local companies, with a concentration on items made in Washington, Warren and Saratoga counties as well as Vermont.
