The Hammerstein Ballroom, opened in 1906 by Oscar Hammerstein I, is a two-tiered ballroom located within the Manhattan Center Studios. From 1910, the venue was used for a variety of events aside from Opera, including Vaudeville. It has changed ownership several times, and as a result has been used as a Freemason's temple and a trade union headquarters. The ballroom is currently owned by Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church. The venue now also hosts events such as fashion shows, television awards and other special events.
