The Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy puts on events in the Jewish LES, and offers customized private tours and innovative public tours from an insider perspective. The LESJC was created with the goal of preserving the sacred Jewish sites of the Lower East Side, America's most famous immigrant neighborhood, and the cradle of Jewish culture in the US. The Conservancy seeks to enhance public awareness of this unique cultural legacy by visiting high-profile and off-the-beaten-path historic synagogues. Private group tours (available by appointment) run approximately two-and-a-half hours. Public walking tours take place about 10 times a year.
