The Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center, the gateway to the Catskills and visitors center for the Catskill Park, is located on a beautiful 60-acre property complete with nature trails, picnic areas, and Esopus Creek fishing access.
The Catskill Interpretive Center is open 7 days/week, year-round, and our friendly staff & volunteers are always on hand to provide area information and help you plan your next Catskills adventure. Interpretive exhibits offer opportunities to learn more about the natural, recreational, cultural, agricultural and historical resources of the Catskills. Visitors and local residents alike can enjoy a wide range of regular events for all ages, from hands-on workshops, talks and nature walks to our annual Book Fair. And our shop is the perfect place to pick up trail maps and hiking guides, local interest books, or a souvenir to remember your trip!
