The McCalls have been growing and selling Pinot Noir and Merlot on Long Island's North Fork since the mid 1990s in the hamlet of Cutchogue, where we have our family home. We planted knowing we were not going to sell our grapes until the time was right to make a very special wine. We weren't interested in putting our name on a bottle unless it was great. 2007 was the vintage we found to be our jumping off point. While many wineries may produce and sell as many wines as possible, we decided to go a simpler route. Find one or two things you are good at and do them well. What has resulted is McCall Wines. We mainly grow two varieties; Pinot Noir and Merlot. Following a french influenced model we make high quality, low yield wines.
