  • Amenities
  • Nestled between the magnificent Shawangunk Mountains and the majestic Hudson River in Ulster and Orange Counties, lies the eighty-mile-long Shawangunk Wine Trail, a group of fifteen diverse wineries, all striving to individually produce world class wines and collectively introduce them to locals and visitors alike in the Hudson River Region. The wineries along the Trail are as diverse as the wines themselves: Brand new facilities and refurbished barns upwards of 100 years old; production of over 100,000 cases of wine and production of less than 2,000 cases; peace and quiet at some; live music and special events at others; and some spectacular vistas that make you say, “Wow!” What visitors will find in common at all of the wineries is a friendly welcome and a sincere desire to provide an enjoyable tasting experience of discovering our delicious Hudson River Region wines. Vinifera, blends, sparkling, French-American and fruit wines, ranging from bone dry to dessert sweet; they’re all here. Hard ciders, distilled spirits, and even mead can be found on the Trail, too. Tasting on the Shawangunk Wine Trail is a palate-pleasing experience for everyone. An amazing abundance of options for entertaining activities before and after wine tasting await you as well: Spectacular scenery everywhere, all types of outdoor adventures, rich history and culture in historic attractions and museums, unlimited gourmet cuisine with ingredients sourced from local farms, enticing shops of all kinds, and fairs, music and food festivals, and farmers’ markets galore. As you follow the Trail, you’ll find the Hudson Valley has it all! Starting 60 miles north of New York City, the Shawangunk Wine Trail is accessible from the New York State Thruway at Exits 16, 17, and 18, and can be approached from south of I-84 at Warwick and Washingtonville and from north of I84 at Marlboro, Pine Bush, or New Paltz.
