The U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., opened in 1982 in the Adirondack Mountains. The training center was the home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Winter Games. The center caters to biathlon, bobsled & skeleton, figure skating, hockey, luge, ski & snowboard and speed skating are the most frequent sports to train on complex. Other sports training at the center include boxing, canoe and kayak, judo, rowing, synchronized swimming, team handball, water polo and wrestling.
