Islip Art Museum

Details

The Islip Arts Museum is the leading space for contemporary art on Long Island. The Museum is owned by the Town of Islip and managed by the Islip Arts Council, a non-profit arts agency. The Islip Art Museum has been referred to as "the finest contemporary art facility of its kind outside of Manhattan," by the New York Times. An ambitious exhibition program features contemporary art by national and international artists, as well as emerging artists from local communities. The Museum presents approximately five exhibitions a year in the main galleries of the Brookwood Hall mansion, a landmark estate on Long Island's south shore. We also provide lectures, fine art classes, workshops and tours for all age groups. The Museum partners with other agencies located in the Brookwood Hall estate complex, including the Carriage House. The Carriage House is Long Island's center for experimental art. Each year, dozens of artists create and present new works of art during a variety of residencies.
