Labyrinth’s mission is to create a home for diverse theater artists and the daring and visceral work they create. We seek to provide support and nurturance to artists developing new work while premiering innovative pieces on our Mainstage Season. Each year, Labyrinth runs a variety of artistic development programs aimed at supporting each stage of the development process, from conception through writing and workshops to the full production of a play.
At the heart of Labyrinth is an ethos of diversity that affects every aspect of programming, including our collaborative play development process, many free performances, and opportunities for audience participation. Many of our pieces are underdog stories or stories with a working class ethos, giving voice to people and neighborhoods that might otherwise go unseen on the American stage.
