Approximately 8,790 acres in size, this WMA is a large wetland complex consisting of open water, wet meadow, emergent marsh, shrub swamp and wooded wetland. The wetlands are among the most extensive in St. Lawrence County and provide important habitat for marsh birds and waterfowl. Indian Creek flows through the area, providing a natural canal linking the Oswegatchie and Grasse Rivers. Some of the top game species on the area include: waterfowl, white tailed deer, wild turkey, ring-necked pheasant and ruffed grouse. Perch River has three distinct management zones with differing levels of access. Please check with the Region 6 Wildlife Office for more details.
