Details

An official Path Through History Site! Founded in 1960 to create broad public interest in and awareness of the rich and distinctive history of the hamlet of Oyster Bay. Their duty is to collect, preserve and make accessible to everyone artifacts, books, documents, records, photographs and other materials pertinent to the history and development of the area. The Earle-Wightman House features 18th and 19th century period rooms, along with a gift shop dedicated to local arts and crafts. The Angela Koenig Center features an exhibition gallery, lecture and workshop facilities, library and archives, events kitchen, and staff offices. Visitors may also enjoy the serenity of the Society's Colonial Garden. The Society stimulates and educates the community through exhibitions, program and publications designed to interpret the past, reflect on the future and to bring history to life in the present.
