Saxon Woods Golf Course

Details

  • The signature panoramic view is from the starting point of the par-3 16th. It’s a downhill tee shot to a postage stamp-sized green protected by bunkers on both sides.

  • Saxon Woods may have the most unique hole among the six Westchester County courses. During the spring and fall No. 2 is played as a 300-yard par-4 but transforms in the summertime to a 168-yard par-3.

  • During this summer of the state’s best professionals and amateurs will play in the Lenox Advisors New York State Open Championship at two-time U.S. Open site, Bethpage Black. For some of these qualifiers they must go through Saxon Woods in three days (June 30th) to get to the New York State Open.

  • Charlie Meola, the 47 year-old Saxon Woods’ head professional, is no stranger to professional tournament play. He’s played in two PGA Tour events (2003 Greater Hartford Open and 2007 Turning Stone Resort Championship), seven National Club Championships, and 20 New York State Opens.
