An official Path Through History Site! Museum dedicated to preserving the history and artifacts of the Ten Mile River Scout Camps, the largest Boy Scout Council camp in the U.S. Extensive memorabilia display dating from the 1700's, includes patches and neckerchiefs, variety of scout uniforms, maps, literature, camp and staff photos. Video collection includes narrated color slide shows, camp documentaries, home movies, interviews with former campers and staffers. See exhibits on the Ten Mile River Indian Rockshelter, Delaware & Hudson Canal, Erie Railroad, lumber, tanning and bluestone mining industries. The Library covers the history of the Ten Mile River Scout Camps, New York City Scouting and local history. There is also extensive documentation on President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his role in the origin of Ten Mile River Camp. Open July-Aug., Tue.-Sun. call for hours. By appointment rest of year.
