Town of Florida Veterans Memorial Park

Details

The veterans park sits on over one acre adjacent to the town municipal building. It includes two major loops of stamped concrete walkways featuring a central walkway where a main monument is situated framed by a 50 ft. flag pole flying a 10ft. by 15ft. Flag. On either side of this walkway are inlaid granite pavers with inscriptions to veterans. Behind the flag pole is a monument dedicated to K-9s with a laser image. On the north loop is a monument inscribed to World War II veterans featuring a laser image of the Iwo Jima Flag Raising and a monument dedicated to the Vietnam veterans with a special inscription and laser image. The center of the north loop has a Navy jet on static display. It is a T2 Buckeye which was a trainer jet responsible for the training of over 11,000 Marine and Navy aviators. Outside the north loop is a section of steel from the South Tower of the World Trade Centers.
