New York, NY – SoHo Playhouse presents the U.S. premiere of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival solo hit, Aberdeen by Cassie Workman, as part of the 2024 International Fringe Encore Series, running Off-Broadway from January 30 – February 11. Opening night is Thursday, February 1.

After stunning reviews at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe as well as a coveted Scotsman Fringe First Award, multi-award-winning celestial comedian and storyteller Cassie Workman brings her extraordinary tour-de-force epic poem, Aberdeen, to New York.

Event organizers announced today that the 126^th Rochester Lilac Festival will take place on May 10-19, 2024. The festival’s more than 500,000 annual visitors will experience time-honored traditions and family activities while taking in the beauty and fragrant scents of the largest collection of lilacs in the Northeast, planted across the sprawling Highland Park gardens. The Rochester Lilac Festival is one of the largest free festivals of its kind in the country and serves as the unofficial start of Rochester’s festival season.

Staatsburg, N.Y. (1/29/24) — Staatsburgh State Historic Site is open for winter tours on Fridays, Saturdays, and select Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last tour at 3:00 p.m.). From The Leonard N. Stern Collection on Loan from the Hellenic Republic

New York, N.Y. - On January 25, The Metropolitan Museum of Art will open a new display featuring some 161 works made in the Cyclades primarily in the Early Bronze Age (3200 to 2000 BCE) from The Leonard N. Stern Collection, which is owned by the Greek state. The loan is the result of a landmark 50-year partnership among the Ministry of Culture of the Hellenic Republic, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, along with the Hellenic Ancient Cultural Institute, regarding Leonard N. Stern’s Collection of Cycladic art. The collection includes nearly all the major types of Cycladic marble figurines representing the Late Neolithic period to the end of the Early Bronze Age.
