Seneca Falls, NY- Women's Rights National Historical Park is excited to partner with WCNY to hold its 4th Annual Central New York Women Who Make America Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will take place Friday, March 4th at 11:00 am in the Wesleyan Chapel. In this ceremony, women from across the local area will be honored for their extraordinary contributions in a variety of fields. Elizabeth Cady Stanton will be an honored guest - one of the local women, a Maker herself, who changed America in 1848.

Palisades, NY (January 26, 2016) - The much-loved Tallman Pool, which has been shuttered due to state budget cuts since 2008, has gotten a new lease on life. Piermont resident Billy Procida, principal of Procida Funding & Advisors, was just awarded a 20-year lease to re-open the historic site. Re-envisioned as the Tallman Beach & Pool Club, the site's renewal will culminate in a reopening this coming Memorial Day weekend.

Maple Sugar ToursCornwall, N.Y. -   On Saturday, February 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will be hosting A Sugaring Off Celebration to celebrate the opening of the museum's Maple Sugaring season and to kick off a month of Maple Sugar Tours. The Maple Sugar Tours take place at the Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall. On opening day, visitors can experience expanded Maple Festivities along with their Maple Sugar Tours guided by Museum Educators. Festivities include a tree tapping demonstration and taste test, special crafts and games, Native American story telling around a camp fire and more!

Ausable Two-Fly ChallengeWilmington, N.Y. - Founded to celebrate the joy of fishing, spirit of sportsmanship, and preservation of a world-class fly fishery, the 17th annual Ausable Two-Fly Challenge welcomes fly fishermen from across the country May 20-21.

Back by popular demand, the 2016 Challenge has reintroduced a women's division this year. A portion of registrations will be donated to Casting for Recovery, which seeks to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing.
