Albany, NY – This May, Discover Albany’s partner Taste of Troy Food Tours is increasing downtown Albany’s tourism programs for visitors with the launch of the Historic Downtown Albany Food Tour.

Amy Koren-Roth founded Taste of Troy Food Tours in Troy in 2016 and decided to expand the company to Albany in 2017. Discover Albany has worked with Amy Koren-Roth to develop this new, weekly Albany-focused tour to increase tourism offerings for visitors. Aligning with Discover Albany’s “Tastes and Traditions” initiative, the new guided walking tour combines Albany’s rich history with the city’s recent exciting culinary accomplishments.

Rochester, N.Y., April 30, 2018—The George Eastman Museum will present the 4th Nitrate Picture Show on May 4–6, 2018, at the Dryden Theatre in Rochester, NY.  The 4th Nitrate Picture Show has been generously funded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Imagine Monroe (powered by COMIDA).  The schedule for this year’s festival includes ten programs of feature-length and short films from eleven international archives and collections. The titles in this year’s lineup will be revealed at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 4.

The Division of Tourism also received gold distinction at the tenth annual Shorty Awards, and a bronze Adrian Award from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.

Plein Air FestivalGlens Falls, N.Y. — Ann Larsen has worked as a professional artist for more than thirty-five years. In that time, she has seen a lot of changes, but one thing has changed the landscape of her career more than anything else.

"Until the Internet, I don't think I realized the opportunities," she said. "Before the Internet, you just didn't know where to turn for the opportunity to be in a gallery or to be in a show."

Larsen, a Great Sacandaga Lake-based plein air artist, is juror for The Hyde Collection's Plein Air Festival, which runs Thursday, August 9, through Sunday, August 12, and is offered in conjunction with Plein Air Adirondack. The three-day festival starts with a lecture by Larsen and culminates with the Museum's annual Community Day.

The Argus QuartetAward-winning quartet brings innovative concert program to Cooperstown audiences

Cooperstown, N.Y. – The Argus Quartet, a versatile and dynamic up-and-coming ensemble, will perform at Christ Episcopal Church on Sunday, May 6 at 4pm as part of the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival’s 20th anniversary season.
