Park TheaterGlens Falls, N.Y. -- The Park Theater is pleased to host Rochmon Record Club for a series of listening parties from April-June 2021 featuring a selection of classic albums! The doors open at 6:30pm and the event will begin at 7pm. Ticket Price: $12 per person. On April 28th, The Park Theater will present the next event in their ‘Dinner & A Movie’ series featuring science fiction drama, Arrival. There will be a special 3-Course Prix Fixe menu presented by executive chef, Matthew J. Delos, featuring a selection of delectable dishes.

Otsego County Digital Guide 2021 CoverCooperstown, N.Y. – Destination Marketing Corporation (DMC), the contracted Tourism Promotion Agent for Otsego County announces the 2021 Digital Lure Piece. This interactive flipbook serves as the County’s travel guide.  Due to funding constraints caused by COVID-19, the Tourism Marketing Committee opted to produce a digital guide for 2021. Approximately $25,000 of funding that would have otherwise been spent on printing and distributing a physical travel guide has been redirected to digital advertising.

Staatsburg, N.Y.— For over a century, the sinking of the RMS Titanic has captured the imagination of the public – but how much do you actually know about the disaster?

On the anniversary of the Titanic’s maiden voyage, Staatsburgh State Historic Site is calling all history buffs and buffs-in-the-making to test their knowledge during an evening of live Titanic-themed exploration. Based on their popular online “pub-trivia”-style events hosted virtually by Staatsburgh staff, contestants can play along individually or in single-household teams from the safety and comfort of home. Covering three rounds of questions, “Staatsburgh Quiz Night: Titanic-sized Edition” will focus on the story and legacy of the Titanic – including its Hudson Valley connections, countless film adaptations, and the fascinating parallels between Staatsburgh and “The Ship of Dreams.” There is a special prize for nightly winners donated by the Friends of Hyde Park and the Friends of Mills at Staatsburgh.

(April 7, 2021) – The University Art Museum is pleased to announce the opening of its most recent exhibition featuring the work of the University at Albany Spring 2021 Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) candidates: Seth Butler, Anya Graf, Hannah Hutchinson, Adrian Lee, Catherine McTague, Arika Prevost, and Paul Sunday.  

The artists featured in this exhibition have just completed the University at Albany Department of Art and Art History’s two-year, 60-credit program of intensive training and study in studio art practices.

Astoria, New York, April 7, 2021 — Beginning Friday, April 30, Museum of the Moving Image will reopen its building, galleries, and theater to the public, it was announced today by the Museum’s Co-Chairs Michael Barker and Ivan L. Lustig and Executive Director Carl Goodman. Doors will reopen with new procedures and physical adjustments in place to ensure the safety of visitors and staff. On view will be the special exhibition Envisioning 2001: Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey, which has been extended through September 2021; The Jim Henson Exhibition; the Museum’s core exhibition Behind the Screen; and more. The Museum’s 267-seat Sumner M. Redstone Theater will open with a retrospective of the films of Stanley Kubrick, including weekly screenings of 2001: A Space Odyssey, to accompany the Envisioning 2001 exhibition, and other programs, including a revival of the Museum’s signature See It Big! series.

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. — To the Moon Alice, an 8-year-old mare owned by Old Tavern Farm, delivered a filly by stallion Uncle Mo at 2 a.m. on April 7 at Old Tavern as part of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame’s Foal Patrol Season 4. Both the mare and foal are healthy and doing well. This is the second foal of the season delivered on Foal Patrol, following Miss Chapin colt by Oscar Performance at Mill Ridge in Kentucky on Feb. 26.

Rochester, N.Y., April 7, 2021—The George Eastman Museum has announced that it will begin its series of family-friendly George Eastman Bike Tours on Saturday, May 15 at 10 a.m. Each tour is $25 per person, and advance registration is required at eastman.org/biketours, as space is limited to 12 participants. Registration is also open for the July 10 and September 4 bike tours.

The two-hour tour is led by Jesse Peers, archivist in the George Eastman Legacy Collection and certified bike instructor through the League of American Bicyclists.
