Enhances the Visitors' Experience; Tool for Teachers


Gloversville, N.Y. - My Path, a new virtual trip planner found on MohawkValleyHistory.com, will change the way visitors explore historic sites in the Mohawk Valley Region.

Mohawk Valley Region Path Through History, which launched MohawkValleyHistory.com in late 2013, ties Revolutionary War-related historic sites throughout the Mohawk Valley Region together in one story-- as "America's First Frontier."

Wassaic, N.Y.  - The wildly successful Wassaic Project Last Saturdays series kicks-off the 2014 season with a small town community block party with a twist on Sat May 31. Wassaic's very own volunteer fire department will lead a parade of cheerleaders, boy scouts, floats constructed by Webutuck middle schoolers and a procession of Webutuck high schoolers wearing "Architectural Beast" masks created with Wassaic Project artists Cosmo Design Factory.

Lake Placid, N.Y. - June 20-22, 2014 will mark the beginning of a new and exciting music experience as Lake Placid plays host to the inaugural Lake Placid Blues and Heritage Festival presented by Miller Lite.

During this first-time event, the village will sway and rock to the sounds of 20+ notable blues bands from throughout the northeastern U.S. Spread out at nearly 10 different venues, the entire downtown business community has embraced the idea of this new event.

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - New York State's former First Lady, Margaretta "Happy" Rockefeller, will serve as the Honorary Chairperson for Saratoga Performing Arts Center's 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2016. The news was announced today by SPAC President and Executive Director Marcia White during her annual address to the organization's membership. White expressed her gratitude to Mrs. Rockefeller, who served as SPAC's Chairman of the Board from 1966 to 1973, for her leadership during SPAC's formative years, which she said, "set the stage for excellence and helped establish SPAC as one of America's premier summer performing arts festivals."
