Visitors Encouraged To Participate in Special Centennial Activities Across New York State
Bethpage Airshow at Jones Beach State Park Held Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26
Governor Kathy Hochul today encouraged New York residents and visitors to start summer early by visiting a State Park, beach or Historic Site this Memorial Day weekend. The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is celebrating the New York State Parks Centennial with many programs and events to bring people together, enjoy the vast natural resources across the state, and honor the system’s important legacy. The weekend also marks the 20th anniversary of the Bethpage Airshow at Jones Beach State Park.

Saranac Lake, NY (May 21, 2024) - Celebrate Paddling ADK, an annual month-long festival celebrating the paddling culture of the Adirondacks, officially kicked off on Friday, May 10. Paddlers gathered to share their love for the water with a paddling mixer hosted at Sunset Bistro in Saranac Lake. The energy carried through to Saturday's highlight event, the 2024 'Round the Mountain Canoe and Kayak Race, hosted by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT).
