New York, N.Y. – June 27, 2018 – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the opening of New York's official monument honoring the LGBT community, including those lost in the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting in June 2016, and all victims of hate, intolerance and violence. The memorial, designed by artist Anthony Goicolea, is located at the western edge of Greenwich Village, in Hudson River Park.

Project Completed Ahead of Schedule for Start of 2018 Swim Season

June 27, 2018 – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the completion of the new $2.9 million Peerless Pool Complex at Saratoga State Park in time for the 2018 swim season. Funded through Governor Cuomo's NY Parks 2020 initiative to rejuvenate and modernize the state park system, the new complex provides improved pool facilities and offers more green space nearby.

New York, N.Y. —Lower Manhattan will be a destination for movie enthusiasts this summer as Fosun, in partnership with the Alliance for Downtown New York, hosts The 28 Liberty Summer Film Series on Fosun Plaza at 28 Liberty. Movies will be shown free on the plaza every Thursday night at 8 pm beginning July 26 and running through the end of August.

The projects announced today include $9.7 million for 14 Downtown Revitalization Initiative projects throughout the village and the new $6.5 million main entrance to Watkins Glen State Park as part of Governor Cuomo's NY Parks 2020 program. The improvements are a component of Southern Tier Soaring, the region's blueprint for economic growth.
