Albany Pine Bush Discovery CommissionAlbany, NY – The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is seeking new Volunteer Docents & Volunteer Educators. Volunteer Docents are friendly greeters that welcome visitors to the Discovery Center, an interpretive center located at 195 New Karner Road in Albany. They are informal educators assisting visitors by answering questions and providing visitor orientation. Volunteer Educators lead Pine Bush-centered education programs for a diversity of audiences including school, public and special interest groups ages pre-k through adult.  Experience as an educator or with public speaking is helpful but not required. All necessary training for both positions will be provided.

This new relationship marks a significant milestone in The Wild Center’s mission to connect people with the natural world through science and immersive experiences.  

The Orchard ProjectSaratoga Springs, N.Y. (June 24, 2024) — The Orchard Project today announced the artists and companies selected to participate in its 2024 Summer Performance Lab program. The 16 projects and artistic teams come from a competitive group of more than 1,000 that applied to participate in this year’s program. Participating projects include the new musical SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED, with music and lyrics by Ryan Miller (of the band Guster) and a book by Nick Blaemire and the new play THE HAUNTING OF SHIRLEY JACKSON by Kate Walat.

Tivoli, NY (June 24, 2024) —Kaatsbaan Cultural Park presents the 2024 Annual Festival in Tivoli, NY, from September 13 to October 6, 2024. The festival showcases various artistic styles and genres, from visual art to contemporary dance, in indoor and outdoor settings. September 13–15 focuses on film, literary, and visual art with an author reading and conversation with Francine Prose, an art walk with curator Hilary Greene and artists, and a screening of MERCE / MISHA / MORE, a film celebrating decades of friendship, mutual admiration, and collaboration between Mikhail Baryshnikov and Merce Cunningham.

TENET Vocal ArtistsNew York, NY (June 24, 2024) TENET Vocal Artists – the acclaimed early music ensemble led by Artistic Director Jolle Greenleaf – today announces its 2024 Fall/Winter and 16th series, which explores 17th-century Italian music, autobiographical work, and a deep dive into rarely heard works by Polish baroque composers. The first three NYC performances feature music by Stanisław Sylwester Szarzyński, Heinrich Schütz, Mikolaj Zieleński, Dietrich Buxtehude, and Adam Jarzębski; Francesco Petrarca; and Francesca Caccini, Sigismondo D’India, Barbara Strozzi, and Claudio Monteverdi.

Brooklyn Bridge ParkBrooklyn, NY (June 24, 2024) — Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) and Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy are offering a wide variety of free and low-cost summer programming at Brooklyn Bridge Park that includes movie screenings, music concerts, dance parties, and more! Events include:

-the Conservancy’s most popular series, Movies With A View Presented by Pluto TV – now in its 24th season! – which shows free outdoor movies on Thursday evenings from July 11 to August 29 at Pier 1 Harbor View Lawn. Each evening, the lawn opens at 5:00 PM on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the movie begins at sunset. Attendees can enjoy a range of concessions and beverages for sale on-site.

Cosi Fan TutteSaratoga Springs, NY (June 24, 2023) - La Scuola degli Amanti – The School for Lovers – was always the subtitle of Mozart’s and librettist Lorenzo da Ponte’s third collaboration together, Così fan Tutte. Director Gisela Cardenas and Conductor Ryan McAdams bring this comic opera to life at Universal Preservation Hall in downtown Saratoga Springs.
