Barrens Birding BlitzAlbany, NY - On Saturday, September 16, 2023 a team birding competition will take place from 6 am - 12 pm, culminating in an awards luncheon at the Discovery Center at 195 New Karner Road in Albany. Birdwatchers of all skill levels are invited to participate from novice to expert, teams are available for birding throughout the preserve as well as sit and spot teams.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the start of the I LOVE NY Summer of Hip Hop, a statewide commemoration of the genre's 50th anniversary on August 11, 2023. Hosted in partnership with renowned cultural organizations including Lincoln Center and The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, the I LOVE NY Summer of Hip Hop will feature a line-up of concerts, exhibitions, performances, and other family-friendly programming across the State.

Cortland, NY - Lime Hollow Nature Center has just become only the 2nd nature center in all of NY State to offer the Action Trackchair, a battery-powered, all terrain “wheelchair” designed to make trails accessible for people with mobility challenges, thanks to a donation from the JM Murray Foundation. Except this chair doesn’t have wheels, it has tracks similar to a tank which can easily traverse uneven terrain and take people deep onto the trails which meander through 600 acres of forests, fields, streams, and unique geological features.

New York, NY (July, 2023) – Get ready for summertime fun as New York City is set to host the 3rd Annual International Puppet Fringe Festival from August 9 –13, 2023, in the Lower East Side. As the only international festival dedicated to puppetry, it is organized by Teatro SEA, Grupo Morán (The Morán Group) and The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Education Center.
