Fall Foliage Map for Press Release - Week 2Color Changes Underway in Areas North of New York City

Albany, NY – (Editor’s note: This is the second 2019 Fall Foliage Report for New York State. Reports are obtained from volunteer field observers and reflect expected color conditions for the coming weekend. New York State’s unparalleled fall foliage season is progressing, with all Upstate regions reporting that noticeable foliage changes are expected this weekend. Observers—from the Empire State Development Division of Tourism’s I LOVE NY program—report changes in the Adirondacks, Capital-Saratoga, Catskills, Central New York, Chautauqua-Allegheny, Finger Lakes, Greater Niagara, Hudson Valley and Thousand Islands-Seaway regions.

FilmColumbiaChatham, NY (September 9, 2019)—James Schamus, longtime key player in the independent filmmaking world, will be honored at the 2019 FilmColumbia festival, at the Crandell Theatre in Chatham, New York. On October 18-19, four of Schamus’ films will be shown, followed by a Q&A conducted by Peter Biskind, film historian, cultural critic, and festival director. Saturday evening, October 19th, Crandell Theatre benefactor Jack Shear will host the annual FilmColumbia Kick-Off Party at his home in Spencertown, NY, where Schamus will be recognized at a benefit supporting the festival and year-round Crandell programs.

Bethel, NY (September 5, 2019) – Festivals at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts continue into October with the return of the annual Wine Festival on Saturday, October 5th as well as Craft: Beer, Spirits & Food Festival on Saturday, October 12th. Located at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival in Bethel, NY both festivals take place from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with VIP early admission beginning at 12:00 p.m.
