Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the start of New York State's 2022 fall foliage and travel season, highlighted by the return of I LOVE NY's Fall Foliage Reports and a new I LOVE NY broadcast and digital marketing campaign to showcase popular fall activities and attractions. I LOVE NY is also collaborating with the state's network of heritage tourism destinations on this year's Path Through History Weekend, scheduled for October 8 to 10, which will feature special events and activations at the state's rich history and historic sites.

Nikolay Mikushkin paintingAuburn, NY (Sept. 6, 2022) – When artist Nikolay Mikushkin emigrated from Kazakhstan to the United States with his wife in October 1996, they chose a location they thought would have four seasons: New York City. “In November, we waited for the snow to start,” Mikushkin said. “But there is no seasonal snow.” So in 2003, they moved from their New York City apartment to Central New York, where living is more affordable and, more importantly, there are four distinct seasons with plenty of snow. “What this area can offer to an artist, especially a plein air artist, is incredible,” said Olga Mikushkina, Nikolay’s wife.

Orange County TourismWelcome Back Visitors!

Orange County, N.Y. – Tourism in Orange County, N.Y. rebounded from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic with a 63.4% growth in visitor spending in 2021, surpassing the Hudson Valley and New York State percentage increases as a whole, a new report shows. Visitor spending increased 49.5% throughout the Hudson Valley and 53.4% statewide, according to the study conducted by the international research company Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics company.
