Ski & Ride PassportJamesville, N.Y. - The SKI NY Passport Program-Kids Ski Free* is back for the 2021-22 Season and is available now. Applications are being taken all season. This year the pass is valid 7 days a week except for holiday periods at certain ski areas as noted.

The program offers free skiing for your third and fourth graders with an adult purchase, it can be used up to two(2) times per participating ski area. A valid adult ticket purchase is one on the ski area website or at the ticket window and includes season passes as well. It does not include rentals or lessons.

GCV&M New Year'sMumford, NY (December 28, 2021) – Genesee Country Village & Museum’s Nature Center will be opening its doors and trails this winter for Nature Sunday Experiences – opportunities for visitors to enjoy the snowy Museum grounds, learn about natural wildlife, and enjoy safe outdoor family fun. The Museum will be open for Nature Sunday Experiences starting Sunday, January 9, through Sunday, March 13, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for a suggested $5 donation.

Astoria, New York, December 15, 2021 — This holiday season, Museum of the Moving Image welcomes families with expanded hours and programs including two rarely shown Jim Henson holiday TV specials, gallery events with a live puppet, an illustrated lecture about the making of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas and screening of classic Chuck Jones cartoons, and the exhibition A Wonderful, Awful Idea”: Animating How the Grinch Stole Christmas. During winter recess for New York City public schools, the Museum will present big-screen family matinees of the acclaimed animated feature The Mitchells vs. the Machines.

Schweinfurth Art CenterAuburn, NY (Dec. 20, 2021) – The Schweinfurth Art Center has received a $49,500 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the state’s nonprofit arts and culture sector. The money was awarded under NYSCA’s Support for Organizations category, and will support all of the Art Center’s programming.

Watkins Glen Chamber of CommerceDundee, N.Y. – The 1897 Beekman House Bed and Breakfast, Dundee, NY, will host its inaugural Winery Pairing Dinner on January 21 and January 22, 2022. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced the 2022 Catskills Fire Tower Challenge, designed to highlight the world-class tourism destinations and recreational opportunities in New York’s Hudson Valley. Starting Jan. 1, 2022, visitors are challenged to hike each of the six fire towers in the Catskill Park and submit information about their visit at any time during the year to earn recognition and prizes.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the new 'Ski for Free' Covid-19 vaccine sweepstakes is now open for children ages 5 to 11 and booster shot recipients. The six-week sweepstakes - the first drawing of which will be on January 4th, 2022 - is intended to bolster vaccination rates among children ages 5-11 as well as individuals eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster dose. Eligible New Yorkers will be able to enter a random drawing for free lift tickets to participating mountains and resorts, thanks to Ski Areas of New York and the Olympic Regional Development Authority.
