Governor Kathy Hochul today announced a year-long celebratory challenge that all New York State residents and visitors can participate in to explore our state parks, learn about New York history, and give back to New York State Parks for the next generation of adventurers. Set to begin on January 1, 2024, the New York State Parks Centennial Challenge includes 100 missions that can be completed at various state parks and historic sites. Participants will need to complete 24 missions throughout 2024 to complete the challenge.

New York, NY – SoHo Playhouse announces casting and the design team for the U.S. premiere of Bacon, written by Sophie Swithinbank and directed by Matthew Iliffe, running Off-Broadway in a limited engagement as part of the 2024 International Fringe Encore Series, from January 4 – 28, 2024. Previews begin January 4 for a January 8 opening.

WST_NYC LINCOLN CENTER

New York, N.Y. – Three powerhouse singer-songwriters, Catterina, Cat Ridgeway and Lauren Calve embark on a four-city tour, the ‘Winter Sun Tour’ across the east coast this January. The tour begins January 23 with stops including Pittsburgh, PA; Kennett Square, PA; New York, NY; before concluding at the Pie Shop in Washington, D.C., on January 27. Their New York City appearance at Lincoln Center will be presented with free admission.

$46 Million State-of-the-Art Welcome Center, Plaza Opens at Niagara Falls State Park Providing Grand Arrival Space for Visitors 

Niagara Arts and Cultural Center and Oakwood Cemetery Receive State Funding for Improvements  

Governor Kathy Hochul today joined elected and community leaders to officially open the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Welcome Center at Niagara Falls State Park. The $46 million facility will provide modern amenities to the millions of visitors arriving at the park each year and provide information on all that the Niagara Falls area has to offer to visitors. The Governor also announced two additional projects—renovations to the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center auditorium and the restoration of historic buildings at Oakwood Cemetery—that will complement the Welcome Center and support the overall goal of improving the visitor experience in Niagara Falls.

From December 26 through January 28, the program of 31 titles (with possible additions) includes some of the most critically acclaimed films of 2023, such as Oppenheimer, Anatomy of a Fall, Fallen Leaves, Killers of the Flower Moon, May December, The Boy and the Heron, Ferrari, The Holdovers, and Menus-Plaisirs Les Troisgros, but also those that have been underappreciated, such as R.M.N., Beau Is Afraid, Pacifiction, Godland, Scarlet, Dry Ground Burning, and more.

Saratoga Springs, NY (December 15, 2023) — The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College will be open during College’s winter break. Through Jan. 21, the Tang Teaching Museum will be open Tuesday–Sunday, noon–5 pm, except for Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).
