Hornell, N.Y. – Hornell NY is directly in the path of the April 8th, 2024 Eclipse, while Hornell is not in totality, we will see a deep partial meaning that the sun will be blocked at 99.74%, and will 100% need glasses to view safely. The best way to get glasses is to attend the Solar Event at Shawmut Park in Hornell hosted by the Friends of the Hornell Public Library and its sponsors. Thanks to grants to the Hornell Library, and donations from NASA, Explore Steuben, and other agencies. Additionally, every student from the Hornell School District will be getting glasses sent home with them the day of the eclipse.
