Saratoga Performing Arts Center Presents The Winter Ball: Passport to Morocco

Saratoga Springs, NY (Feb. 21, 2017) - Saratoga Performing Arts Center's Junior Committee is pleased to present its popular Winter Ball on Saturday, March 4 at 7 p.m. at the Hall of Springs. The theme for this year's fundraiser, "Passport to Morocco," is inspired by the rich culture and mystique of Morocco, sometimes referred to as "the land of the setting sun." Tickets to the event are available online at spac.org Proceeds raised at the event support classical and educational programming at SPAC.

Regional Tourism Council releases list of family-focused activities to enjoy during school break week

Pittsford, N.Y. - As families prepare for the upcoming school break, the Finger Lakes Region is encouraging locals to take a vacation - in their own backyard. The Finger Lakes Regional Tourism Council (FLRTC), the official promotion organization for the 14-county Finger Lakes Region, has released a list of activities, specials, and events taking place during February Break. Their goal is to remind those living locally that they don't have to travel to enjoy a vast range of family-friendly activities, and to encourage families to use the time off to get out and explore more of the region they call home.

Fahnestock Winter Park has opened for the season. The park offers over 11 miles of machine-groomed trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing enthusiasts. The Winter Park will continue to operate as conditions allow. The public is encouraged to contact the park and check its website and social media pages to stay up to date with the operating schedule.

Ski Movie Night at The Wild Center

Tupper Lake, N.Y. - Join The Wild Center on Saturday, February 18th for an evening celebrating skiing and riding, including a showing of Matchstick Productions' (MSP) latest film, Ruin and Rose.  The night will begin with local high school student and Adirondack Youth Climate Summiteer Everett Sapp's documentary The Last Chance. Filmed and produced entirely by Sapp, the film shows the effects of climate change on the world of Nordic skiing in the Adirondacks, including a compelling call to action for his generation.

Ticonderoga, NY - February 6, 2017 - The Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP) Promotions Committee in coordination with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce and Silver Bay YMCA Teen Center, as well as local businesses and organization are pleased to announce they will host the Third Annual Ticonderoga End of Winter Carnival on Saturday, March 4th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Ticonderoga Armory and Ticonderoga Recreational Areas. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today reminded out-of-state and Canadian snowmobile enthusiasts that this weekend is New York's annual Free Snowmobiling Weekend. Beginning today and through Sunday, state registration fees will be waived for properly registered and insured out-of-state snowmobilers wishing to explore New York's 10,500 miles of trails.

Stillwater, N.Y. - Snow or no snow, come enjoy the 22nd annual Frost Faire on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 from 11 AM to 3 PM at Saratoga National Historical Park (the Battlefield) located on Routes 4 and 32 in Stillwater.   All activities are free and all take place in and around the Visitor Center this year (no organized activities at Tour Road Stop 1).
