New York, N.Y. - During the 1890s, a new type of poster emerged in the United States, one that more closely resembled a work of art than an advertisement. These sleek, sophisticated posters publicized magazines, newspapers, books, and other forms of literature. On view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from March 7 through June 11, 2024, The Art of the Literary Poster: Works from the Leonard A. Lauder Collection will present more than 50 highlights from the Museum's outstanding collection of some 500 works, developed over four decades through the vision and support of Leonard A. Lauder.

Saratoga Springs, NY (March 6, 2024) – Saratoga Performing Arts Center announces its Summer SPACtacular is back for its second annual event on Friday, May 31 from 5:00 – 11:30 p.m. to benefit SPAC’s mission, year-round programming, and education initiatives. The season kick-off fundraiser will feature an expansive celebration across the SPAC grounds that includes live music, a multi-course “Summerscape Supper,” culinary tastings, cocktails, a new “glow lounge” with mocktails and tarot card readings, fireworks, and a dance party on SPAC’s historic stage.

(March 6, 2024) —The George Eastman Museum has appointed historian and curator Michelle Finn, PhD, as curator of the George Eastman Collection, with responsibility for George Eastman’s 35,000‑square-foot mansion, its contents, and archival materials comprising more than 200,000 items. Finn will start in the position on April 15.

Slated for April 21 at 3 p.m. at the Spa Little Theater, the special project was developed at SPAC and is presented in partnership with the Skidmore College Department of Music.
