Tykes: Winter Break EditionDestiny USA to Host a Week of Mom-Approved Events from Monday, February 19th - Friday, February 23rd

Syracuse, NY (February 5, 2024) – As local schools gear up for winter break, Destiny USA is thrilled to announce its Tykes: Winter Break Edition, featuring a week-long series of free exciting activities and events for children and their families. The beloved summer event program, Tykes Tuesday, is making a seasonal comeback with a cool twist for the winter break.

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. (January 26) — The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College announces the return of its popular Family Saturdays, with two workshops each month from February through May. The first Family Saturday will be on February 3 at 2 pm. For Family Saturday: Floating Sculptures, participants will view Steve Roden’s spatial score in the Tang atrium, talk about it, and create their own floating sculptures using tissue paper, cardstock, and string.

Winter Walk and ParadeValatie, NY - The Valatie Economic Redevelopment Association (V.E.R.A.), the Village of Valatie, and the Valatie Santa Claus Club, and Valatie Now are proud to sponsor the Annual WinterWalk and Winter Parade in and along Main Street, Valatie on Saturday, December 9th  from 5 until 9 pm. The Winter Parade will be populated by firetrucks and rescue vehicles from eighteen area fire departments, as well as performers from Dance Diversity and carolers from regional organizations. And of course the highlight of Valatie's Winter Parade is Santa Claus riding on his sleigh.

Kids can see a historic magic lantern in operation and then play with a model lantern and make their own magic lantern slides to take home. They can also create an optical toy and explore other Victorian toys on display.

Staatsburgh, N.Y. — Through Labor Day, Staatsburgh State Historic Site invites you to explore the beautiful Hudson River landscape by taking a photographic scavenger hunt challenge! A camera and walking shoes are all that’s needed to complete ten fun riddles on a loop through the grounds of the historic river-front estate. All ages are invited to participate – play solo or with a group.
