Kids can see a historic magic lantern in operation and then play with a model lantern and make their own magic lantern slides to take home. They can also create an optical toy and explore other Victorian toys on display.

Supported by Friends of Taconic State Park (FTSP) and Pomeroy Family Railroad, this attraction will showcase the historic Copake Iron Works in Taconic State Park.

NYS Parks Recreation Historic PreservationSundays in December, 1:00-3:00PM

Staatsburg, N.Y. (11/22/22) — Staatsburgh State Historic Site will host the Holiday Whodunit, a mystery for children, every Sunday afternoon this December. Children ages 6 to 11 and their family members can come anytime between the hours of 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to attend the program. The children become detectives and solve a mystery by interviewing costumed interpreters, who portray Gilded Age houseguests and servants.
