Saratoga Springs, NY (March 2, 2023) – Saratoga Performing Arts Center announces the latest CulinaryArts@SPAC event, Eric Asimov: Wines of the Finger Lakes, featuring The New York Times chief wine critic and author, Eric Asimov. Asimov, a connoisseur and champion of the growing region, will lead guests through an expert guided tasting of six different wines from New York’s Finger Lakes region including Riesling, the signature wine of the region, as well as a selection of reds from Ravines Wine Cellars, Forge Cellars and Bloomer Creek Vineyard, in addition to a sparkling wine from chëpìka.

Series of Celebrations Planned at Taste NY Markets Across the State in 2023

Governor Kathy Hochul today kicked off the State's 10-year anniversary celebrations for Taste NY, New York's official 'eat local, drink local' program, at a special open house at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center in Geneva. The event showcased the diversity and uniqueness of New York State's farmers and food and beverage producers, as well as regional tourism destinations. Today's celebration marked the first in a series of events that are planned across the state in recognition of the 2023 10-year milestone and the program's success, which has brought over $100 million in economic impact to New York State producers.

Genesee Country Village & Museum’s Maple Sugar FestivalMumford, NY (February 15, 2023) – In celebration of the return of maple sugaring season in New York State, Genesee Country Village & Museum will host its annual Maple Sugar Festival on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 - 19, and Saturday and Sunday, March 25 - 26. Explore a modern-day sugarhouse where fresh syrup is boiling, then journey into a 19th-century sugar camp staffed by costumed historical interpreters to learn about the techniques and tools used by early settlers used to collect sap and make maple sugar.

Designed to cultivate healthy appetites and palates with meal planning strategies, recipes, and activities for the whole family, the event includes a 90-minute whole foods family meal-planning workshop for adults at the SPAC School of the Arts, and “Food as Art” activities for children at the neighboring Children’s Museum at Saratoga, culminating in a festive all-inclusive family-style dinner at The Pines at SPAC.
