Staatsburg, N.Y.  (09/02/25) — Experience the scenic landscape encompassing Staatsburgh State Historic Site through the focused lens of drawing on Saturday, September 20 at 11am. Professional artist and educator Mira Fink will guide participants as they take a short walk around the grounds of Mills Memorial State Park, taking in the beauty of the English landscape garden design and Hudson River. Instruction in creating thumbnail sketches using view finders to explore composition and the effects of light and shadow will be given.

Seneca Falls, N.Y. - Seneca Falls will play host to a special homeschool field trip day on October 1, 2025. Women’s Rights National Historical Park, the Seneca Falls Historical Society, and the National Women’s Hall of Fame are collaborating on a series of educational programs geared toward homeschool students.  

The program, designed for ages 8-12, will feature tours of each site, and interactive activities with site staff.

Visitors will meet a Setauket British Loyalist known as “Big Bill the Tory”, who will share his views on the legendary Long Island-based Patriot spy ring.

101st Airborne Reenactors Create Realistic Paratrooper Experience for C-47 Passengers September 6th

Farmingdale, NY (August 22, 2025) - American Airpower Museum continues its popular C-47 D-Day Living History Flight Experience on Saturday, September 6, 2025, commemorating the End of World War II 80th Anniversary. Passengers will fly in an original WWII Douglas C-47 Skytrain Troop Transport, and are joined by AAM’s living historians for a breathtakingly realistic and unforgettable recreation of what U.S. Paratroopers experienced in their quest to liberate Europe from Nazi fascism.

Seneca Falls and Auburn, N.Y. - Women’s Rights National Historical Park and Harriet Tubman National Historical Park will host “Equality Week,” the parks’ first joint public event, from August 26 to August 31, 2025. Coinciding with Women’s Equality Day on August 26, Equality Week will feature guest speakers, living history programs, family-friendly activities, and special exhibits – all centered around the theme of equality and the ongoing fight for equal rights.
